Just a short update on our activities this month! A fantastic week end flying with the Normandy Spitfire at the Victory Show. A Huge Thank You from the Team
We’d like to say a massive thank you to R5 Displays and the organisers of this year’s Victory Show at Cosby, near Leicester, for inviting us back for the second year running.
The Victory Show is one of the UK’s premier WWII living history events, held every September at Foxlands Farm in Cosby, Leicestershire. Over the weekend the ground below comes alive with re-enactors, military vehicles, and staged battles recreating scenes from the Second World War, while the skies above host a fantastic line-up of historic aircraft, which is exactly where we came in.
This year’s plan was to bring along the Mk IX Spitfire and the Mk I Hurricane, but a last-minute maintenance issue grounded the Hurricane.
Never ones to disappoint a crowd, we swapped her out for the good old Wacky Wabbit, our Mk 4 Harvard, who stepped up to the mark beautifully. It made for a lovely, if slightly unusual, display pairing, and with the battles unfolding on the ground beneath us, the whole display area had a wonderfully surreal, immersive atmosphere.
The show was a great success, and we’re already looking forward to the next Victory Show in 2027.
In the meantime, we’re still offering Harvard rides right through to mid-December so if you fancy taking to the skies in a piece of aviation history, get in touch and book at www.T6Harvard.com. Photo by Kallum Buckley
