Spitfire Pilot Experience – 40 Minute T-6 Harvard Warbird Flight

Long before they flew the legendary Spitfire into combat, RAF pilots learned their trade in the North American T-6 Harvard. This powerful military trainer prepared thousands of young airmen for the demands of aerial warfare and became one of the most respected training aircraft ever built.

Today, you can experience the same aircraft and discover why the Harvard was considered the final stepping stone before operational fighter aircraft.

The Aircraft That Trained Spitfire Pilots

WWII T-6 Harvard warbird flight experience with the Wacky Wabbit, operated by T6 Harvard Ltd in the UKThe T-6 Harvard earned a reputation for being demanding, powerful and incredibly rewarding to fly. In his famous memoir First Light, Battle of Britain pilot Geoffrey Wellum described the Harvard as a “difficult little beast” that taught pilots the harsh realities of military aviation.

Many future Spitfire and Hurricane pilots learned their skills in the Harvard before progressing to front-line fighter squadrons.

If you could master the Harvard, you could fly almost anything.
